Catechists

Welcome to Catholic Mission’s World Mission Month School Resource for 2019 and these specially designed lessons for use by catechists.

Pope Francis has declared this an Extraordinary Missionary Month calling for a reawakening of missionary vitality across the world. Whatever you do for mission this World Mission Month will be contributing to this call.

And consider ‘What’s My Mission?’ Pope Francis is urging each of us to reflect on our mission.

‘This missionary mandate touches us personally: I am a mission, always; you are a mission, always…. As far as God’s love is concerned, no one is useless or insignificant. Each of us is a mission to the world, for each of us is the fruit of God’s love.’

This year we learn about a group of children in Ghana. We visit Nazareth Home for God’s Children where Sr Stan, her staff and volunteers, cater for children with physical and intellectual disabilities who have been neglected by their families and not given the support they need to thrive. The Secondary materials profile Sacred Heart Junior High School and students who are left behind.

These pages are especially designed for use by catechists. The lessons are designed for different years/stages. They include:

  • Student response
  • Lesson aim
  • Resources
  • References to Scripture
  • Lesson plan with suggested times

As well as these resources, you are welcome and encouraged to use any other resource from this website that you find helpful in your work with your students.
